It was a long triangular crystal, transparent and blood-red, glowing slightly, with a formless ripple about it, it gave off a faint feeling of a heart beating, ripples that beat after another.

Description[]

The Blood River Crystal is an item that can only be found on Blood River World. It is considered the gem of the continent. It is said to be a treasure given to the continent by gods! Only the Immortal Temple would occasionally give one to a World City.

Blood River Crystals can be absorbed into the body, increasing the abilities of the recipient. On Blood River World, a Domain Level warrior has to absorb 1 crystal to be named a Territory City Leader, and a World Level warrior has to absorb 1 crystal to be named a World City Leader.

Absorbing 1 crystal is difficult, the 2nd has 10 times the requirements on the body, and the 3rd, 1,000 times! This is for a human body, there are beasts who have a much easier time absorbing the crystals, but even for them it is difficult. According to the Immortal Temple, beasts who are proficient in metal absorb them easier and gain more benefits!^[3] If a human absorbs 3 crystals, they are named a Blood Warrior and can acquire a Blood River Medal from a World City. These medals were the pride of the continent! If they can absorb 10 crystals, they are named a Black Warrior and can go to the Immortal Temple to acquire the Black Blood River Medal.

It took countless years to produce the legendary Blood Warrior, and as far as the legendary Black Warrior goes, no one knew if there was ever one.

In his time on Blood River World, Luo Feng obtained 9,816 Blood River Crystals in addition to the ones he had already absorbed. He then learned from King Zhenyan that they are condensed crystals of the Beast God's essence.^[4] One hundred of these crystals forms a unit as it forms one drop of the Beast God's blood; to form 100 drops thus took 10,000 crystals.^[5] This Beast God practiced in Law of Gold and Law of Space , which made it easier for the Golden Horned Beast to absorb them, since Space Beasts are heirs of the Beast Gods.^[6] He also learned that they can be bought at the Hongmeng Blood River Crystal Auction, which happens very rarely.

Abilities[]

Absorbing the crystals increases the Life Gene level of the absorber. As the Human Race tends to have bodies with lower Life Gene levels than Special Lifeforms, the royal species of the Demon Race, etc., these are incredibly valuable to them. This is something that even Universe Venerables would fight for! They also provide some augmentation of the user's universe law comprehension.

After absorbing 3 crystals, one's melding with the universe energies would double. After absorbing 10, one's Life Gene level would reach 10 times! This increase in level was also multiplicative with the improvements from the Nine Volume Manual!

After absorbing 100 crystals with his Golden Horned Beast body, Luo Feng noticed an incredible difference; the right claw that he had initially used to absorb the crystals changed to pure gold!^[7] There was a blood-red engraving spread throughout, merging with the gold scales to form a towering red and gold effect. Its origin law melding was about 10 times its original level. The right claw alone was 10 times the strength of the rest of the body!^[8]

After absorbing 380 crystals with his Golden Horned Beast body, when combined with his training in the Nine Volume Manual (completed the 5th volume at this point), plus the Golden Horned Beast's Life Gene level being 10 times that of ordinary organisms, he reached a Life Gene level of 6,400 times that of ordinary organisms! Without utilizing the crystals, its Life Gene level was 480 times.^[9]

After absorbing 82 crystals and 18 drops of Beast God Blood with his Earthling body, with his Life Gene level already at 48, it was increased to 3,000, showing his Earthling body wasn't as compatible with the blood river energies as the Golden Horned Beast body.^[5] One has to know, however, that humans were generally limited to a Life Gene level of 100! Combined with the first 7 volumes of the Nine Volume Manual, it reached 9,800!^[10]
