Description[]
Duan Mie, also known as Duan, is one of the 3 sets (Dong Hua, Undying River) of lost knowledge of the Wu Kingdom that make up the core Inheritance of Duan Dong River. Left behind by the 3 patriarchs, it comprises 9 volumes, with the first 3 being the limit for True Gods. Once one transcended and became a Void True God, they could begin practicing the later volumes.[2] Luo Feng received this after successfully passing the tests to become the next heir to Duan Dong River.
Duan Mie is an amplification technique that could dramatically increase the power of a Divine Body (for Immortals below True God) or a flesh-and-blood body (for Immortals who are at least True God) in a short period of time. By burning the body, it significantly increases its strength, which translates to every type of technique performed by the cultivator.
In comparison to self-destruction, in which a cultivator gathers all of their energy to explode at once, annihilating the cultivator and dispersing the force in all directions, Duan Mie allows the cultivator to control the rate at which the body was burned, and allows the cultivator to accurately control the power generated! The outburst could be controlled to last for a few seconds, just an instant, or turned off completely. Essentially, Duan Mie allows a cultivator to level jump to fight opponents.[1]
The downside is the massive consumption of the cultivator's Divine Body.[3] To use it properly, one would need a massive Divine Body; Luo Feng initially only used it with his Remote Ocean body that had reached the Perfect Life Gene Level.[4] This and Dong Hua were the first two parts of the Duan Dong River inheritance that Luo Feng focused on comprehending.[3]
