In Swallowed Star items fall under grades, the lowest grade being A and the highest being G. Each grade will be effective against a particular Cultivation, level signifies the effective limit of an item against a character or an item, e.g. if a weapon is graded as B6 than it can hurt items and characters up to Stellar Level 6. Characters usually start using Treasures during universe venerable level.

Weapons and Armors[]
For Spirit Weapons the easier it is to use the weapon the higher its price will be, likewise for grades the lower the requirement the higher the grade and higher the requirement lower the grade. For this reason, Luo Feng's Soaring Shuttle, with its high requirements for use, is low grade. For Armor the higher the Level and Grade the higher the protection it offers and the more expensive it is.

Automaton Grading[]
Unlike the humans who used the metals and alloys in a more distinct way, which was easier to tell what sort of metals or alloys were used, humans had no way at all to tell just what the automaton construct was made of. Automaton Grading is different from Human Race grading. For example, a D1-9 Grade automaton ship will be regarded as a D9 ship by humans[3].
