Description[]
Guest Officials (客卿) are Primal Chaos Sovereigns and God Kings who have been invited by high-ranking members of the Imperial Families of the Ancient Kingdoms. First-Class Lords are able to apply for 2 Guest Officials; it is unclear how many God Kings are allowed to have.
Cultivators can chosen to be Guest Officials for any number of reasons; Tian Kun was chosen due to his cooking skills, while Luo Feng was chosen due to his just heart and defense of the weak. Ordinary Primal Chaos Sovereigns and God Kings are not typically chosen to be Guest Officials.
Guest Officials are a primary resource used in the competition between First-Class Lords, and contribute to their lord's strength. While they are initially invited by one cultivator, if they are sought by a different cultivator, they can choose to defect, albeit with probable consequences. The Ancient Kingdoms do not care about the conflicts between Guest Officials, and in fact seem to encourage them to a degree.
Requirements[]
The Emperor Chu Family requires Primal Chaos Sovereigns to have broken through using the Law Lineage (instead of the Bloodline Cultivation Method) as a minimum requirement to be chosen as a Guest Official. Additionally, they must have an adequate level of strength and they cannot be of an Alien Race (those who live outside the Continent of Origin)[1].
Benefits[]
Primal Chaos Sovereign Guest Officials of the Emperor Chu Family receive a guest official token, a cave residence, and 10 attendants. Additionally, they receive 100,000 merits they can use to exchange for detailed inheritances, even those most core and high-quality of the Imperial Families[2]. While Guest Officials can check for Guest Official tasks through the Guest Official Order, those tasks are usually ones that no one wants[3]. They can receive higher-quality tasks from the Imperial Family member for whom they work. They can earn more merits through completion of tasks, allowing them to exchange for additional inheritances and other resources. While the inheritances that the Guest Officials can choose are the same across all of the Imperial Families, the resources that each family can provide are generally the resources bestowed by the family's ancestor (for example, Emperor Chu provides the resources for those of the Emperor Chu Family)[4].
