Description[]

Illusion Attacks (幻术攻击(Huànshù gōngjí), lit. Illusion Attack, also seen as just 幻术(Huànshù), lit. Illusion) is a method of attack used primarily by Illusionists. Illusion attacks always require skills in illusions, so even after one breaks through to Immortal, despite being able to perform Soul Attacks essentially through brute force and sheer volume of Immortal Energy (containing Spiritual Energy), they can only perform illusion attacks if they have trained in that path.

Illusionists typically use illusion attacks in conjunction with either Soul Attacks or Spirit Weapon attacks, hiding their true attacks in the illusion[1]. While a strong Willpower will defend a cultivator from illusion attacks, it takes stronger Willpower than what is needed to defend against Soul Attacks, making Illusion Attacks particularly tricky to defend against[1]. Illusion attacks can also be used by Warriors with exceptional mental strength, allowing them to follow the path of an Illusionist Warrior[2].

Those who specialize in Illusion Attacks are considered exceptionally deadly at every level against anyone with a soul. At the Immortal level, those who specialize in illusion attacks are dangerous against everyone, with Pinnacle Immortal Kings considered comparable to Limit Immortal Kings[3]. The Universe Master Clear Eye Master was considered even more dangerous than Five Chaos Master by the majority of Universe Masters[4]!

Defense[]

Some creatures have strong defense against illusion attacks (such as the Qiu Shi Race[5]), and as stated earlier, exceptional Willpower will render illusion attacks useless. There are also special Treasures (such as Tower Pearl) and techniques (such as Beast God Roar) that can defend the owner from illusion attacks. As one gets stronger, their connection to the Original Laws make it more difficult for illusion attacks to affect their Consciousness, but with proper skill and technique, this is not a foolproof defensive strategy.
