Personality[]

King Zhenyan is very direct, with an explosive temper, and unafraid of anything. Due to his straightforward nature, natural strength, and brutal means of dealing with his opposition, he has made a number of enemies in the universe. However, despite this, his forthright actions, integrity, and willingness to do anything for those about whom he cared have placed multiple others in his debt and he could count many strong characters among his friends. He is very sincere and close to his disciples, treating them like his own children, and this character was well-known in Primal Chaos City.

Biography[]

King Zhenyan is an Invincible Immortal King of the Virtual Universe Company, the strongest leader of the 9 Universe Sub-Sect[1]. He practices the Law of Earth and Law of Space Way of the Beast God and has a Life Gene Level of 10. An Apeman, he is one of the 18 Temple Masters of the Apeman Race Holy Temple and is considered an absolute warrior among the Apemen. He has had 92 disciples, with 23 already dead, and 35 following him in Primal Chaos City. Before Luo Feng, only one of his disciples, King Bloodthirsty, reached the Immortal King level[7], but he had multiple disciples at the Pinnacle Immortal Marquis level[8].

Early Life and Primal Chaos City[]

King Zhenyan was born hundreds of millions of years before the start of Swallowed Star, and spent his time seeking strength, marching forward on the path of the strong. With his explosive temper and refusal to back down, he killed and scolded many, making many enemies. In his pursuit of strength, he took on a God General Inheritance, providing him with amplification techniques[9]. He also began to train in the Law of Earth and Law of Space Way of the Beast God[10], and increased his Life Gene Level to 10[11]. Eventually, with his strength in techniques, battle experience, and increased life gene, he became an Invincible Immortal King.

During his rise, he encountered Nightmare Candle King and defeated him many times[12]. Showing respect to his father, Venerable Fire Erosion, he did not publicize all of his victories, and chose not to kill him, unlike others he had battled. Due to Nightmare Candle King's character, the two developed an antagonistic relationship, with him being jealous of Zhenyan's strength and talent. He also became enemies with King Yu Liang, who had a sinister character and deemed him his rival[13]. As they rose in the Virtual Universe Company, their strengths were close, and due to their differences in character, they always disliked each other. At some point in his past, he had a spouse, but after she passed, he felt incredibly guilty[14]. He knew that he had incurred the hatred of Po Yu Marquis, and it is implied that she was either a friend of his dead spouse or a lover that he had while being married.

He also made many friends, including his life-and-death companions King Longyu and King Tong Nan, who together formed a team with him, exploring Secret Regions and surviving multiple perils[15]. He befriended Venerable Wu Tang before he became a Universe Venerable, and remained close even after Wu Tang's breakthrough[5]. As mutual confidants, they remained friends even after Zhenyan was sent to Primal Chaos City. At some point in his journey he saved King Sky Feather's life, earning a proud and powerful friend.

Due to his temper and the ruckus he had kicked up along the way, the Virtual Universe Company had no choice but to send him to Primal Chaos City, giving him no authority or status[8]. Unlike King Sky Feather, another Invincible Immortal King, he has no palace or underlings, seeking to contribute to the race through the training of disciples. Despite being an Invincible Immortal King who followed the Way of the Beast God and trained in a God General Inheritance, he was not considered an incredible talent of the Human Race. As a result, despite his requests, he had never been granted a Beast God Inheritance Order to allow him to train at the Ancestral God Sect[10].

His effective imprisonment in Primal Chaos City lasted for hundreds of millions of years, resulting in many forgetting his reputation and exploits. His disciple King Bloodthirsty became more prominent than him[7], and new Immortals and Immortal Marquises thought they could get away with killing his disciple[16]. In his time in Primal Chaos City, he created 3 Pinnacle Techniques[5] and continued to work on his Law of Space comprehension, hoping to breakthrough to Universe Venerable and regain his former glory. During this period, he and King Black Mist spent 18 eras discussing space law, developing a deep friendship[1]. With his strength and level of space law comprehension, Zhenyan became a sect leader of the 9 Universe Primal Chaos Tablet, responsible for teaching classes to qualified geniuses, and was the strongest of the group.

Meeting Luo Feng[]

When Luo Feng arrived in Primal Chaos City, he chose to train in the 9 Universe Primal Chaos Tablet, hoping to focus on the Law of Space [17]. When King Zhenyan arrived at the Tong Tian Bridge for some knowledge of the 12 new geniuses training in the 9 Universe Tablet, Bevin told him that Luo Feng probably had the most hope of the 12[1]. After watching footage of his bridge attempt, King Zhenyan sent Luo Feng a message suggesting that he buy the Floating Blood technique, then head to a specific training balcony for some markings that would help him with the first 3 pictures of the 9 Universe Tablet[18]. After Babata looked into his name, he was shocked that King Zhenyan was the creator of the Zhenyan Secret Technique, which at 800,000 Virtual Universe Company Points was about 80 times as expensive as his estimate of the cost of Hu Yan Bo's Soul Seal! Babata explained just how incredible King Zhenyan was, and that following his advice would certainly help[18]. King Zhenyan was disappointed when he learned that Luo Feng had not bought the Floating Blood manual since he had already used all of his points on the Hidden Shadow Secret Manual and some equipment, but thought it was OK for him to waste a few of his first 30 years in Primal Chaos City[19].

About 10 years into Luo Feng's stay in Primal Chaos City, King Zhenyan and King Tong Nan were visited by one of their life-and-death companions, King Longyu, who arrived on the orders of Venerable Nine Swords to observe the latest batch of geniuses[20]. After exchanging pleasantries, they shared some wine and discussed the progress of the genius batch, complimenting Bolan and Rong Jun. Inwardly, Zhenyan worried that Luo Feng was not comprehending the Floating Blood technique, and had thus wasted 10 years of his time in the city. After close to 20 days in Primal Chaos City, Longyu prepared to leave but was interrupted by Zhenyan remarking that Luo Feng had just passed the 2nd level of the Tong Tian Bridge, and did so using close combat rather than his controller skills[21]! Zhenyan noted that he definitely had seen some potential in Luo Feng, whose close combat was now comparable to Long Yun or Wuka. With this in mind, the trio traveled to the Tong Tian Bridge to observe Luo Feng's attempt at passing the 3rd level. Watching Luo Feng's movement, the trio realized that Luo Feng had gotten a glimpse of the space law foundation, resulting in incredibly clean and precise movement. Zhenyan further noted that Luo Feng had much stronger Consciousness than other Universe Level 1 geniuses, resulting in his ability to pass the 3rd level[22]. Zhenyan remarked that Luo Feng could surpass Bolan in the future, and that he was expecting great things from him[23].

After watching Luo Feng's performance, King Zhenyan bantered with the other 3 Sub-Sect leaders of the Virtual Universe Company branch of the 9 Universe Sub-Sect, King Flame Dragon, King Thousand Illusions, and King Brilliant Sword about who Luo Feng would request as his teacher[24]. A few days later, he traveled to the Apeman Race Holy Temple and demanded to know of one of the other 17 Temple Masters why Zhenyan's Ka Hun Si Clan only had one slot on the Hongmeng name list, while the King Kong Clan received 4. He noted that while he did not wish to bully anyone and did not pay much attention to the Apeman matters, if something like this happened again, he would see the other Temple Masters in the real world and seal them, scaring the 15 Temple Masters present[24].

Since he had passed the 3rd level of the Tong Tian Bridge, Luo Feng had the right to ask one of the 9 Universe Sub-Sect leaders to be his teacher, and with gratitude and earnestness, he asked King Zhenyan to be his teacher[7]. Zhenyan, who had smiled earlier at the thought, accepted and declared with a laugh that Lu Feng was now his disciple. He spent the remaining 20 years of Luo Feng's time in Primal Chaos City directly teaching him and was extremely satisfied with his progress. With only 10 days remaining in Luo Feng's time in the city, he told him that he could ask him for assistance whenever he was particularly stumped in his training, but to try to resolve any other world problems himself. He stated that his goals for Luo Feng were for him to enter the Primal Secret Realm and to later become an Immortal King[7]. Noting that among his disciples, only King Bloodthirsty had become an Immortal King, he declared that it was up to Luo Feng to become the second, and sent him off[7]. Just before the end of the 30 year period, he laughed with great joy when Luo Feng passed the 5th level of the Tong Tian Bridge. Before Luo Feng set off, Zhenyan told him that the universe was hundreds to thousands of times more dangerous than Primal Chaos City, and to be careful not to tarnish the name of Zhenyan[25].

Teaching After Primal Chaos City[]

As Luo Feng's training speed slowed outside of Primal Chaos City, King Zhenyan proactively contacted him to help him maintain his training efficiency, advising him to buy the first two books of the Time Space Scribbles and contact him if after 3 months he was stumped[26]. He also advised Luo Feng not to spend too much time studying at Yu Xiang Mountain, and to instead study and comprehend the Original Laws, taking some time to go on missions to help him apply his comprehension. Later, King Zhenyan was made aware of Luo Feng's performance at Fantasy Ocean, passing the first 9 islands[27].

Over 80 years into Luo Feng's time in Blood River World, King Zhenyan discussed his improvements with King Longyu, who noted that the management of the Virtual Universe Company (VUC) had taken notice[28]. Worrying that Luo Feng hadn't tried the Tong Tian Bridge since passing the 6th level, and that he could have possibly encountered great danger in the Ancient God Ruins, she directly asked how his training was going. Zhenyan casually remarked that Luo Feng had comprehended 35 of the first 36 wonders of Law of Space , with the combination of his pointers, the Time Space Scribbles, and his absorption of Blood River Crystals aiding his comprehension speed, which increased with his strength[28].

King Zhenyan contacted Luo Feng after the VUC informed the geniuses of the two ways to make it into the Primal Secret Realm; the Secret Realm Qualification Battles and conquering Primal Sky Mountain[29]. He burst with laughter when Luo Feng told him that he attempted Primal Sky Mountain, and explained to him the true difficulty of the mountain: it would take someone over 100 times stronger than Luo Feng to pass it, meaning that even the Primal Secret Realm Universe Level members cannot pass it. After explaining the purpose of Primal Sky Mountain, he also explained that even with those difficulties, there were those who had passed it, such as Kedi. Advising that one should be confident but not arrogant, he then warned Luo Feng about the Secret Realm Qualification Battles, explaining the format and the strength of the 30 Universe Level seniors. Giving him the goal of making it into the top 3 of the Absolute Beginning Secret Realm, he then sent Luo Feng off[29].

Later, he observed Luo Feng's techniques, marveling at his improvement speed and comprehension[30]. When Luo Feng chose to attempt an Impossible-level mission, he noted that while Luo Feng had completed 5 consecutive Dangerous-level missions, the Impossible-level missions were a completely different level[31]. Smiling at Luo Feng's confidence and decisiveness, he ceased his dissuasion and ordered him to return alive[32]. During his time teaching Luo Feng, he complimented Mo Luo's self-created battle techniques, the Beast Fist[33]. After Mo Luo betrayed Luo Feng at Devil Mountain, King Zhenyan met with Mo Luo and his teacher, Zhenyan's rival, King Yu Liang[13]. While he despised Yu Liang and would normally avoid seeing him, he was concerned about Luo Feng and sought information from Mo Luo, who was also in Devil Mountain and had met him. He listened to Mo Luo essentially swap his and Luo Feng's parts in what actually happened, then coldly sent them out after asking Mo Luo to confirm that he spoke the truth. With his experience teaching Luo Feng, he knew Luo Feng would never backstab to attain victory, that he was the disciple with the strongest beliefs and the most principles. Suddenly he recalled that one of the 32 inheritance palaces in Devil Mountain had been entered by an unknown lifeform, making him think that if it was Luo Feng, that would be the best possibility, but that even if it wasn't, with his ability to reach the 10th island of Fantasy Ocean, Luo Feng would absolutely survive Devil Mountain[34].

When Luo Feng reappeared, Zhenyan personally came to the Absolute Beginning Secret Realm to see him, demanding an explanation as to why he hadn't heard from Luo Feng in 3 years[35]. Understanding Zhenyan's character and his love for his disciples, Luo Feng respectfully apologized and explained his circumstances. Zhenyan guessed that Luo Feng entered the inheritance palace, and as they discussed what happened, he advised Luo Feng not to reveal his encounter, to avoid unnecessary issues. The pair also spoke about Mo Luo, with Luo Feng revealing the truth and expressing his confidence in defeating him in the upcoming Secret Realm Qualification Battles. After learning that his student was safe, Zhenyan left without prying any further, filling Luo Feng with gratitude[35]. Before Luo Feng's final battle in the Secret Realm Qualification Battles, Zhenyan shared his pride in his performance, while advising that he likely had no chance of defeating Ke Luo Fu, who could pass the 8th level of the Tong Tian Bridge[36]. He told him to relax, calm himself, and give it his best, that way he would have no regrets even if he lost[37]. He was one of the members of the VUC who were suspicious at Ke Luo Fu's failure to make it to their battle[37], but he was incredibly happy when Luo Feng was accepted into the Primal Secret Realm[38].

The Student Ventures into the Universe[]

Upon Luo Feng's acceptance into the Primal Secret Realm, Zhenyan pulled strings to have Dylan appointed as the leader of his guard team. An Immortal close to Immortal Marquis-level, specializing in soul attacks and soul defense, he was considered one of the strongest guard team generals, shocking Luo Feng with his selection. Dylan then explained that, concerned about Luo Feng's explorations after reaching Domain Master, Zhenyan arranged for Dylan to become Luo Feng's guard team leader, as a strong disciple of his strongest disciple, King Bloodthirsty[39]. Shortly after, Zhenyan directly warned Luo Feng of the dangers he may face when he became a Domain Master. He also explained that due to his way of doing things, he made many enemies, and literally did not even know just how many enemies he had, shocking Luo Feng, who had never seen this side of him[39].

Recognizing Luo Feng's interest in the fusion of Law of Gold and Law of Space , he also helped Luo Feng request the Immortal Marquis Bubulu as his personal teacher, to guide him on that path[40]. With his strength and reputation, Zhenyan was able to convince Bubulu to be Luo Feng's teacher, helping him with his claw techniques and fusion law comprehension. Later, Luo Feng benefited from Zhenyan's relationship with King Sky Feather, as the fellow Invincible Immortal King gave Luo Feng the chance to choose between the rewards from Devil Mountain[41]. After acquiring the Flame Void Gold, he reached out to Zhenyan, who explained the reason for his friendliness, also advising Luo Feng not to spread that information. In that moment, Luo Feng understood that despite having many enemies, Zhenyan also had many friends[41].

Zhenyan advised Luo Feng to break through to Domain Master since he felt like he could do so, providing the proper perspective[42]. Reminding him that the battles at the Domain Master level would provide greater pressure and thus be of greater value, he urged him to continue forward. He even promised to obtain points to give to Luo Feng if he lacked points in the future due to missing out on an Impossible-level mission[42]! Reminding him that Universe Level battles were minor and that breaking through to World Master would result in his fastest law comprehension period and most brutal battles, he sent Luo Feng on to explore the universe. Simply by being Luo Feng's teacher, Zhenyan aided him in his role as Supervisor Envoy of the Virtual Universe Company (VUC), as Purple Lightning Official reminded his colleagues of Zhenyan's reputation. As a fellow Apeman, he truly knew of Zhenyan's brutality and protective nature, warning his colleagues that unless they assassinated Luo Feng without any evidence whatsoever, even in their memories, they would definitely be killed by Zhenyan[43]. Later, Zhenyan was informed by Dylan of Luo Feng's victory over Bei Chuang, a genius capable of passing the 9th level of the Tong Tian Bridge[44].

Dylan contacted Zhenyan when Luo Feng was attacked in Wu Long Starfield and interrogated by Nightmare Candle King Yan Zhu, prompting Zhenyan to contact Luo Feng directly[12]. After verifying the truth of Luo Feng's story he told the Universe Venerable, he smiled with pride and relieved him by telling him that no matter what Yan Zhu felt, Luo Feng, as a genius of the VUC, was not someone whose fate he could determine. After Luo Feng recounted his conversation with Yan Zhu, Zhenyan laughed, noting Luo Feng's aptitude for throwing in names. He shared that Tian Shi Palace Master was much stronger than any Universe Country leader or Universe Venerable, a true upper echelon member of the VUC[12]. Zhenyan told him that he was extremely lucky to receive guidance from the palace leader back when he left Blood River World. Zhenyan then explained why Yan Zhu targeted Luo Feng, explaining their shared history, Yan Zhu's mediocrity, and the strength of his father, Venerable Fire Erosion[12].

As Luo Feng worked on completing his Highest Points Mission, Zhenyan contacted him to get an update[45]. Smiling while noting their shared style for killing quite a few, Zhenyan explained the purpose of the Domain Master Highest Points Missions, advising that depending on who was judging him, he could get a higher score or a lower score for the number of people he killed and the style with which he killed. After finishing this discussion, he got to the true reason for his visit: Venerable Undying, a Universe Overlord from the Huge Axe Dojo, wished to contact Luo Feng[45]. After asking if Luo Feng had offended any members of the Huge Axe Dojo other than Yan Zhu, he shared Venerable Undying's reputation with Luo Feng, stating that his teacher was the creator of the Huge Axe Primal Chaos Tablet, Huge Axe Creator! Relieved that Luo Feng hadn't offended anyone, he left Luo Feng to his conversation[45].

Luo Feng shared what happened when Venerable Fire Erosion interrupted the battle between King Bloodthirsty/King Longyu and Yan Zhu's forces, making Zhenyan curious as to why Venerable Fire Erosion was so courteous to Luo Feng[46]. Smiling that since he was courteous, it couldn't be a bad thing, he advised Luo Feng not to think much more about it, and to focus on reaching World Master. Later, Zhenyan met with Luo Feng when he completed his Highest Points Mission, shocking him again with his willingness to scold the assessors as idiots for expecting Luo Feng to lock his father up in jail[8]. Telling Luo Feng to stick to his beliefs, he explained why he was essentially hidden in Primal Chaos City, without any authority or status. On the other hand, this lack of authority also meant he did not have to take their orders or interact with the upper echelon much at all.

When Luo Feng declared his intention to remain in Primal Chaos City to train to World Master, Zhenyan gave him a gift[47]. Declaring that World Master is the most critical training period, and thus if he did not help his disciple, he could not still be called a teacher, he gave Luo Feng the first 3 volumes of the Yan Shen 7 Forms, worth 8 billion VUC Points! He also told Luo Feng that this is the most he ever spent on a disciple, and that it was because he saw Luo Feng's skill with the blade, the Yan Shen Armament, and his claw techniques, realizing that his fusion of gold and space law was incredible[47]. Filled with gratitude, Luo Feng declared that he would always remember that debt, thinking that he would return the favor the moment he could. Zhenyan followed up later for a progress update, and was glad to hear that the manual suited Luo Feng well[48]. He then told Luo Feng that if he wanted to be truly rewarded by the VUC for his strength, he would have to show his true strength. Knowing that Luo Feng was much stronger than what he showed the VUC, he sent him on to attack the Tong Tian Bridge again so he could be favored more. Zhenyan watched with King Longyu and many others as Luo Feng passed the 9th through 13th levels of the bridge[49]. Even Zhenyan was surprised, since he initially felt Luo Feng would barely pass the 12th level, which was already amazing[50]! After Luo Feng's performance, he warned King Longyu that many Universe Venerables would be chasing after Luo Feng. Luo Feng confirmed this in their next conversation, during which Zhenyan informed him that Primal Chaos City Leader sent someone to tell him that he would accept Luo Feng as a disciple-in-name[51]. One of the top-3 beings in the Human Race, Primal Chaos City Leader was an incredibly powerful and important being, and it was a great honor to have a chance to be his disciple. Zhenyan advised Luo Feng to see Venerable Nine Swords first to share his decision, out of respect, then to see the city leader.

During the 6th year of Luo Feng's training in the Yan Shen 7 Forms, Zhenyan, aware of the deal between Luo Feng and the city leader, inquired on his progress and if he had confidence of completing the 1st level in the 3,000 year period provided[52]. Satisfied with his response, Zhenyan reminded him to take part in the Domain Master Secret Realm Qualification Battles. After completing the 1st level of the Yan Shen 7 Forms, then passing the Domain Master Primal Sky Mountain, Luo Feng visited Zhenyan prior to leaving Primal Chaos City[53]. Telling Luo Feng to go out without spoiling his reputation, Zhenyan also told him to come back alive, bringing good wine.

The Proud Teacher[]

As Luo Feng continued to grow in strength, Zhenyan helped when he could, having been very dedicated to teaching him. Due to Zhenyan's straightforward character, Luo Feng was always relaxed and friendly with him (unlike his relationship with Primal Chaos City Leader)[54], and as he approached Zhenyan's strength, their friendship grew. When Luo Feng acquired valuable items in his time in the Extraterritorial Battlefield, Zhenyan used his connections to help him sell them to members of the Hongmeng. After introducing him to King Black Heart and King Desire Devil, the pair learned of a Blood River Crystal auction, prompting Zhenyan to explain the true nature of the crystals and their value to Flesh and Blood Lifeforms[55].

Zhenyan met with Luo Feng during his prolonged battle with King Purple Clock, telling him his satisfaction with his performance while reminding him that Primal Chaos City Leader may expect even more of him, so he should continue to work hard[56]. He often reminded him of this fact, as he was concerned that while Luo Feng would become his most exceptional student, the city leader still may not recognize him. After knowing Luo Feng for so long, he ceased worrying about any troubles Luo Feng had if he said he could handle them. During this time, he began drinking some of the Ping Hai Company's teas from Earth, in addition to his wines. The pair discussed Purple Clock, with Zhenyan sharing his advice from hundreds of millions of years of experience. When Purple Clock re-appeared, Zhenyan reminded him to stay careful and that he would await his good news[56]. When Luo Feng earned the name King Blade River under his Yang alias, Primal Chaos City Leader ordered Zhenyan not to spread the news that Luo Feng was King Blade River[57].

After 6,000 years of Luo Feng's undertaking of the life-or-death inheritance for Star Tower, Xu Xin reached out to Zhenyan to inform him of the situation and the possibility of his death[58]. In response, Zhenyan urgently rushed to Primal Chaos City Leader's residence to request a visit. With his status as Luo Feng's teacher, he was able to speak to the city leader, who confirmed that Luo Feng, while possibly in trouble, was still alive at Star Tower. During Luo Feng's time there, Zhenyan attempted to contact him 9 times, second only to Xu Xin, and in his final message he told Luo Feng to see his family first before seeing him[59]. When Luo Feng successfully inherited Star Tower, he visited Zhenyan at Thunderclap Island, fulfilling his promise and bringing Spirit Downfall and Nine Peaks Wine[60]. Luo Feng offered the Purple Clock to him as a gift, but he stated that he had his own treasures and the Purple Clock, as a Law of Fire and Law of Space treasure, didn't fit his path, making it useless to him. Despite rejecting the gift, he smiled broadly while thinking of Luo Feng's genuine respect for his teacher.

The pair caught up on the happenings of the previous 6,092 years, and Zhenyan advised him to deal with King Jian Ta brutally, setting an example for others[60]. When Luo Feng revealed the city leader's order for him to pass the World Master Primal Sky Mountain, Zhenyan expressed shock, as that required law comprehension of level 20 of the Tong Tian Bridge[61]. When Luo Feng smiled in response, Zhenyan told him to buy him some good wine when he got to Primal Chaos City. The two drank together, after which Luo Feng left to deal with Jian Ta. Later, when Luo Feng began hunting Immortal Kings at Star Tower, Zhenyan warned him that those close to Invincible Immortal King, such as King Black Tomb and King Dragon Pagoda, could be targeting him[62]. When Luo Feng confidently responded that he could handle it, Zhenyan sighed and shook his head, knowing that Luo Feng only spoke with confidence because he had true strength.

On Luo Feng's return to Primal Chaos City, he brought Purple Flame Ape Wine, once again satisfying his promise to Zhenyan, who smiled happily at the rewards that his disciple must have obtained[63]. When Luo Feng stated his plan to attempt Primal Sky Mountain and then explore some Secret Regions, he lessened Zhenyan's worries by stating he would only go to less dangerous ones[64]. After reminding Luo Feng to keep his Blade River identity an absolute secret, he sent Luo Feng off to Primal Sky Mountain, telling him to return to drink with him after he finished. The pair spoke about the strength of the guardian of the 21st level of the 9 Universe Bridge after Luo Feng failed to finish that level[65]. Zhenyan shared with him that everyone in Primal Chaos City was discussing his performance at the moment, but that first, they had to drink!

The Ancestral God Sect[]

While in Ice Prison, Luo Feng obtained an Earth Beast God Inheritance Order from Si Bo Wa in exchange for access to the Virtual Universe[66]. After discussing the value of the order with Primal Chaos City Leader, the city leader shared that King Zhenyan also followed the Way of the Beast God, and that he actually followed the Earth Beast God Path[10]. Despite being an Invincible Immortal King, King Zhenyan was not considered a talent of the race, as he was someone who got to that stage through hundreds of millions of years of training and instruction from other powerful beings. The city leader gave Luo Feng the option to either give the inheritance order directly to Zhenyan or use it for himself.

After discussing the matter with Primal Chaos City Leader, Luo Feng elected to give the Earth Beast God Inheritance Order he obtained to King Zhenyan as a token of his appreciation for his teacher[10]. Zhenyan, as someone who obtained a God General Inheritance[67], knew of the Ancestral God Sect and was greatly appreciative of the city leader when 3 Purple-Clothed Messengers appeared and presented him with the inheritance order[68]. When the messengers informed him that it came from Luo Feng, he was shocked and concerned that he may be impeding Luo Feng's progress, so the two discussed it. Luo Feng reminded him that as the talent King Blade River, he would be able to obtain an inheritance order from the Human Race, and Zhenyan expressed his appreciation for Luo Feng. After Luo Feng received his inheritance order, the pair prepared to set off for the Land of Inheritance[68].

Meeting Luo Feng in the Primal Secret Realm per the city leader's order, the pair used God Country Transmission to teleport to the God Country of one of Luo Feng's Soul Slaves, which was closer to the Land of Inheritance[69]. Once they arrived, Zhenyan brought out his spaceship, a shining golden ship fused with a Metal Lifeform, capable of reaching 90 times light-speed, faster than any of Luo Feng's ships. After expressing surprise that the ship's AI had changed from an old man to a cute girl in the hundreds of millions of years of unuse, the Zhenyan and Luo Feng went to their cabins and spent the 4 months of travel time training[69].

The pair arrived in the Ancestral God Secret Region and admired the Hei Chong Whirlpools, which were capable of injuring or killing a Universe Venerable, depending on their size[70]. After being teleported closer to a large, colorful river, they were met by a God General of the Fei Cang Race, who ordered them to pass him their inheritance orders. As the two looked at the river, Zhenyan realized that the river was actually the Five-Color Aurora Lake, one of the Xeon Arcana of the Ancestral God Sect. Fei Cang God General then revealed to Zhenyan that Star Tower was also a Xeon Arcana, which Luo Feng already knew, as the tower's owner. The God General invited them into the lake, and Zhenyan tested it first, to ensure that Luo Feng would be safe; after confirming its safety, the pair entered the lake and reached Bauhinia Island[70].

The God General continued to explain the details of Bauhinia Island, advising them of the number of heirs, the specifications of the palaces they were allowed to build, and other important details. He also showed them the Ancestral God Palace, Eight Beast God Palaces, and other important living spaces[71]. After seeing them to the Guardian Beast God's palace, the God General left, expressing his hope that they live rather than die, due to the difficulty of obtaining a second inheritance order[72].

At the Guardian Beast God's palace, the pair met the human Universe Venerable soul slave of the Guardian Beast God of Bauhinia Island, who advised them to await the Guardian Beast God's arrival[72]. After 12 days of waiting, the Guardian Beast God arrived and gave them details on the Land of Inheritance, Land of Treasures, the World of Glory, and the Ancestral God Secret Region. The pair followed his orders and left to build their palaces before going to the Land of Inheritance[72]. Admiring Luo Feng's ancient Chinese handiwork, Zhenyan asked him to build him a palace as well; Luo Feng built him a garden in the style of the Tang Dynasty, more majestic than his own[73].

At the Land of Inheritance, the pair were met by Venerable Jiu Feng, a God General Candidate Universe Overlord of the Human Race, who ordered them to accept their free Beast God Inheritance to which they were entitled[73]. After experiencing the inheritance, Zhenyan felt he was close to his breakthrough, and after discussing the value of the inheritance and how to obtain another inheritance opportunity with Jiu Feng, Zhenyan entered his palace, asking Luo Feng not to disturb him unless it was urgent. Zhenyan then worked to break through to Universe Venerable[74].

While Luo Feng was being attacked by King Bark Mirror, and was then forced to escape to Nine Remoteness World, Zhenyan finished comprehending the Law of Space and broke through to Universe Venerable, creating a scene and resulting in multiple heirs of the Hongmeng to visit his palace to congratulate him[11]. His Divine Body was improved by 92 percent, which, due to his improved Life Gene Level of 10 resulted in a fairly powerful Divine Body. He was confused at Luo Feng's absence, and after the other guests left, he asked Venerable Wu Tang about him[5]. Learning from Wu Tang about Luo Feng's performance in the World of Glory, he beamed with pride, but when he learned that Luo Feng had been attacked by King Bark Mirror, his face turned grim with fury. After obtaining information on the dangerous places in the Ancestral God Secret Region, particularly Nine Remoteness Space, he retrieved his black staff Heavy Treasure and traveled to Rock Island, awaiting Bark Mirror's return. Wu Tang noted the return of the ferocious Zhenyan of old, while Zhenyan grinned and wondered aloud if anyone remembered him after his hundreds of millions of years in Primal Chaos City[5].

When King Bark Mirror returned, Zhenyan engaged him in battle[75], despite not knowing if he would win or lose[76]. He easily defended himself against his inherited technique and almost killed Bark Mirror. Bark Mirror called upon a great being from the Northern Territory Alliance, Venerable Wan Feng, who defended him and began battling Zhenyan, forcing him to retreat to Bauhinia Island. After hearing the details, Luo Feng contacted Zhenyan in the Virtual Universe, and the pair met at his section of space in the Virtual Universe[75]. Zhenyan shared that in his battle with King Bark Mirror, he learned that his Heavy Treasure boots were actually a pair of Top Heavy Treasure boots, capable of a second form, which allowed him to catch up to Bark Mirror and later escape from Venerable Wan Feng[77]. He further explained why he was able to defeat Bark Mirror, providing insights that Luo Feng used in his battle with him. When drinking with Luo Feng, he explained that humans were ruthless in killing other races, creating enemies of them, but that the only way to become a Pinnacle Race was through killing, thus acquiring resources[78]. Later, Zhenyan prepared a celebration meal for Luo Feng after he obtained the Silver Dragon Phantom Ship[79].

The Rise of Luo Feng[]

After Luo Feng broke through to Immortal, Primal Chaos City Leader allowed him to build a palace on the mountainside of Thunderclap Island, angering the Universe Venerables who dwelled there[80]. Initially rendered speechless at what he learned from his conversation with Venerable Bloody Wing and Venerable Thunder, he posited that Primal Chaos City Leader must have other thoughts, but this did not lessen their anger. Taking their advice, he visited Luo Feng, informing him that the Universe Venerables were angry, taking care to also explain their honor and pride. With a new understanding, Luo Feng decided to battle King Bark Mirror to prove his strength to the Human Race[80]. Zhenyan watched the beginning of the battle with some of the other human Universe Venerables[81], and watched a clip of the battle with some of the other Beast God heirs, as Bark Mirror had disconnected the feed when he started to lose[82]. Knowing that Luo Feng wanted to hear the reaction of the human Universe Venerables, he met with Luo Feng and shared the details, telling him to make as many friends as possible so Zhenyan could take advantage and befriend them as well[83].

While chatting with Luo Feng and Nine Flames Country Master, Zhenyan was approached by Venerable Gui Yi, the second disciple of Primal Chaos City Leader, who informed the pair that they were now qualified to participate in the Supreme Council[83]. Sometime later, after the Ancestral God Sect informed Luo Feng that the Lightning Beast God would arrive on Bauhinia Island to publicly bestow upon him a treasure, he shared the news with Zhenyan[84]. Shocked that the Ancestral God Sect would do this for a member of the Hongmeng, Zhenyan explained the usual motivations behind the bestowal of treasures. After their conversation, he looked forward to the spectacle, believing that Luo Feng might receive an Arcana[84], and he was present when Luo Feng received the Golden Thread Aurora Mirror[85].

Later, when King Bark Mirror shared that Luo Feng had multiple Arcana, Zhenyan discussed the matter with Luo Feng[86]. Sensing his unrelenting determination and confidence, he realized that Luo Feng was ready for the battles to come. After this discussion, the pair received their invite to their first Supreme Council meeting, which they attended on Pantheon Mountain. Zhenyan informed Luo Feng of the jealousy of some of the Universe Venerables over his receipt of 3 Arcana while still a World Master, but Luo Feng retorted that he couldn't expect to be close to all of the race's great beings[87]. When Zhenyan noted that it could affect the city leader's reputation, Luo Feng smirked, noting that they could do nothing about what the city leader did with his own valuables, nor could they affect his status, which he had earned with his strength.

In the meeting, the pair learned that the humans would enter the Original Star in 10 years, and they learned details about the Original Star from Venerable Bloody Wing[88]. Zhenyan realized that his strength was inadequate to enter the Original Star, and warned Luo Feng that he may have worsened his relationship with two Universe Overlords by not letting them borrow his Soul Arcana, Tower Pearl[89]. Laughing at Luo Feng's similarity to himself, he advised him to prepare and to not give the human Universe Venerables the chance to mock him. After telling Luo Feng that he believed in his strength, Zhenyan departed. When Zhenyan later heard about multiple great beings converging on Luo Feng to hunt him Flame Emperor's territory, he warned him[90].

After Luo Feng obtained the Robbery Armor, he connected to the Virtual Universe to inform Zhenyan of his intention to enter the Original Star[91]. At that moment, Zhenyan was listening to Venerable Niu Zhou share the rumor of appearance of the Top Arcana Palace, Tian Liu Fan. Luo Feng then arrived, sharing his intention to enter the Original Star with the group. When Luo Feng showed his power in the battles on the Original Star, Zhenyan was one of those who received the news that Luo Feng had the strength of a Top Universe Overlord[92]. He turned off his communications, knowing that many Universe Venerables would seek him out, as Luo Feng's teacher[93].

Luo Feng arrived at Zhenyan's palace, where he had prepared food and Zhe Gui Wine, sharing his pride in Luo Feng's accomplishments as his disciple[94]. The pair drank together as Zhenyan told him of the spies that he and the others had killed, telling him that the Demon Race, Zerg Race, and Automaton Race were all trying to locate his God Country and find a way to kill him. Luo Feng then shared his intention to leave human territory (to claim Star Tower and obtain the fifth board of the Nine Volume Manual, but he could not share these with him), leaving him 3 Arcana (New Tian Yang Armor, Numerous Worlds, and Wood Grain Boat) to help him in case trouble reached him. After Luo Feng's departure, he inspected the 3 Arcana and realized that Luo Feng did not tell him of their value since he was worried that Zhenyan would not accept them[94].

The Human Era and the Sector Beast War[]

With the help of the training guides of the ancient civilization, Venerable Zhenyan reached the level of a limit Universe Venerable, one step from Universe Master[95]. Since he was the closest to Luo Feng of all of his teachers, he received many resources to aid him in his improvement. In the 91st era after the arrival of the World of Jin, Zhenyan broke through to Universe Master, becoming the third of the Human Race to do so since Luo Feng obtained the Duan Dong River Inheritance[3]. He was one of the few beings allowed to visit Luo Feng in his private palace in the Virtual Universe[96].

Whenever Luo Feng thought of for whom he fought, Zhenyan Master came to mind, as his teacher and good friend[97]. Before Luo Feng broke through to True God, Zhenyan lamented the fact that his greatest disciple, his greatest pride, was under the pressure of all of the races of Universe Ocean[98]. He knew that he could not help Luo Feng in the Sector Beast War, so while he was extremely proud of Luo Feng's strength, he felt great heartache from the fact that he could not fight alongside him. He prayed that Luo Feng could break through to True God and defeat the Sector Beasts.

Zhenyan Master, along with every being of the Original Universe except for Sitting Mountain Guest, saw the golden figure of Luo Feng when he broke through to True God, shedding tears at the breakthrough and chance for everyone's survival[99]. Before Luo Feng's final battle with Mo He, Zhenyan tapped him on the shoulder and told him that he would always be his best disciple[100].

As the Human Race prepared for their migration into Ancestor Yuan Holy Land Universe and Milky Way Holy Land Universe, Zhenyan pled for Po Yu Marquis to be allowed to move into Ancestor Yuan's Holy Land[14]. He understood that since she had plotted against Luo Feng, she would be unable to survive the end of the Reincarnation Era without his forgiveness. Luo Feng set his mind at ease and also asked him to move to his Miniature Universe, since he could easily break off part of it for Zhenyan's breakthrough to True God.

At the end of Swallowed Star, Zhenyan is one of those who came to see Luo Feng and Ancestor Yuan off before they journeyed to the Land of Reincarnation[14].

Strength[]

As an Invincible Immortal King, King Zhenyan was able to escape from and even fight ordinary Universe Venerables! His Life Gene Level of 10, combined with his reaching the 4th level of the Way of the Beast God and his 3 Pinnacle Techniques made him nearly unbeatable among Immortal Kings. Following the Warrior path, he understood the importance of defending against Soul Attacks and illusions, and his most powerful Pinnacle Technique was a soul defense technique. His strength at the Immortal King level was such that he could find no challenge in the Extraterritorial Battlefield! Even if he was attacked with Fei Mo Poison, it would take 100 drops to kill him, and he'd detect the first couple of drops and prevent the others from touching his Divine Body, making the poison useless against him.

After completing the 4th level of the Way of the Beast God, he became a Universe Venerable capable of surviving battle with the Advanced Universe Venerable Wan Feng! By following the training guides of the ancient civilization, he eventually reached the limit Universe Venerable level, then broke through to Universe Master. Despite his talents, as an ordinary Universe Master, he was unable to assist in the Sector Beast War.

Reputation[]

Those who knew of King Zhenyan's history had great respect for him, knowing of his ferocity and protectiveness. When Luo Feng ventured into the universe as a Domain Master, he met multiple Immortals who expressed respect for him, including Zhen Qian[43], Ji Tian Cang[101], Phantom Spirit King[102], King Long Jue[103], and even King Blood Devil[104]!
