Description[]
In Swallowed Star living beings can live from ages as low as 0 to as high as being Eternal, depending on their Cultivation. Still, there are universal limitations for a lifespan that Original Laws placed on each cultivation rank. Lifespan is not the same for every species but instead, some species might have higher lifespan and some lower compared to humans. It is stated that Space Beast has 10 times the life span of a human world master[1], so we can conclude that different races/species have a different lifespan but there is one constant and that is Non-Special Lifeforms are not immortal, and they can Die Pre-Immortal cultivation level.
All the creatures in the universe were children of the universe, and the universe loved them. Special life forms had eternal lives when they were first born. Ordinary life forms, however, had to become undying before they had eternal lives. Otherwise, they would die. There was no need to elaborate on non-undying. Undying fighters were those who fully comprehended the easiest laws and gained eternal lives with the help of law ocean. - I Eat Tomatoes [2]

The following are the age limitations that the universe has on each cultivation level for humans. Pre-Immortal Stage Age Restrictions are different among Races, however, Post Immortal Stage Lifespan Restrictions are the same among all beings.

Immortals and above don't have an infinite lifespan but are limited to the rules of the Reincarnation Cycle.
Life Gene and Lifespan[]
It is not specifically mentioned in the novel but Lifespan may also depend on the Life Gene Level, for example, Space Beasts have a Life Gene of 10, therefore, their Lifespan is 10 times more than Humans. So the baseline for Lifespan is Life Gene Level and the normal Life Gene Level in the Original Universe is 1 which translates to 1,000 Eras.
Holy Land Lifespan[]
If a being is part of a Holy Land and their cultivation is at or above the Immortal stage, then they cannot die due to natural causes. Becoming a citizen of the Holy Land allows the beings to have the same lifespan as the owner of the Holy Land. As an example, if Xu Xin was not part of the Holy Land she would have died as soon as the Original Universe went through its destruction cycle, but as a part of Luo Feng's Milky Way Holy Land Universe, she has the same lifespan as Luo Feng which is eternal.
There are five ways a being part of the Holy Land can die.
- Premature Destruction of the Holy Land.
- The owner doesn't die, and their Cultivation stagnates. The owner has to reincarnate and re-cultivate to have a new Holy Land. After the owner reaches the God King realm the destruction of the Holy Land doesn't affect their cultivation.
- Premature Death of the Owner of the Holy Land.
- Unnatural Death of the Being.
- Owner of the Holy Land killing the Being.
- Since the Owner of the Holy Land has complete control over their Universe they can kill whoever is part of their Universe.
- Natural Death of the owner and Destruction of the Holy Land due to the reincarnation cycle of the Caged World
- If the Caged World does not have an Overlord to prevent it from going through destruction via the reincarnation cycle, the Holy Land will be destroyed unless the owner of the Holy Land is at the cultivation level of Ultimate God King and above where he/she can escape the destruction of the Caged World and live in the Chaotic Origin Dimension or find another Caged World to inhabit.
Eternal Body[]
Living beings who have eternal bodies cannot cultivate and they have the same lifespan as World Masters. After Xu Xin committed suicide the couple's necklace, Eternal Love that Luo Feng gifted her resurrected her with an Eternal Body.
“The universe is fair. Granting them eternal bodies, but also making them unable to get much stronger through training. If they wanted to train, the only way for them is to leave their original bodies and steal someone else’s.” Babata said, “Even though they are unable to train, think of the lure of eternity, Luo Feng, you’ll understand. Just like the children of Undying beings, they are at the Universe level, but their life spans are only ten eras. They would of course be willing to put their own children’s souls in the eternal bodies.” - Babata [6]
