Description[]
The Original Universe (原始宇宙, lit. Original Universe, also referred to as 原宇宙, lit. Original Universe) is the dwelling place of all within the current Reincarnation Era (the Third Reincarnation Era at the beginning of Swallowed Star), except for those who live in Miniature Universes. It is 10 trillion light-years in diameter[3]; no one has lived long enough to explore it in its entirety. The Original Universe exists in Universe Ocean and is by far the largest celestial body in Universe Ocean[4]. Its universe structure law is even more complex than Luo Feng's Miniature Universe, but it was similar, as if Beginning of the Origin and 100,000 Heavens became an endless space[5]. The Original Universe consumes no energy[6], and can absorb chaos airflow[7].
The Original Universe is off-limits to those whose Original Universes have gone through reincarnation, so those in Universe Ocean whose life imprints are tied to Miniature Universes or Holy Lands are unable to enter the Original Universe[8]. Each Universe Ocean has one Original Universe[9].
The Original Universe experiences five phases before going through reincarnation[10]:
- Creation
- Expansion
- Peak
- Decline
- Destruction
The lifespan of a particular incarnation of the Original Universe is 1 Reincarnation Era, however the Original Universe is essentially eternal. At the end of the destruction phase, the Original Universe is destroyed and reverts to the Original Universe Origin, from which a new incarnation of the Original Universe is born[5]. The new incarnation of the Original Universe then goes through the five phases again.
Within the Original Universe[]
The Original Universe has a unique structure that allows one to confirm their coordinates wherever they are[10]. This differs from Universe Ocean, where great beings require a map (except for Sector Beasts, who can innately sense each other and thus always return to the Land of Darkness). It contains an incredible number of celestial bodies and special locations, such as Secret Regions, black holes, and wormholes, and encompasses all of the Space Interlayers that house God Countries. It gives birth to billions of races, numerous types of lifeforms, and countless great beings. Any lifeform can be born within the Original Universe, provided there is a suitable environment[9].
Universe Travel[]

Within the Original Universe, the speed limit for lifeforms and objects containing lifeforms is the speed of light. Once one reaches lightspeed (unless they are a True God and thus able to resist the pull), they are pulled into the Dark Universe, a parallel space with coordinates matching those of the Original Universe. Traveling through the Dark Universe is referred to as Universe Travel (宇宙穿梭)[11].
Original Universe Origin[]
The Original Universe Origin (原始宇宙本源, lit. Original Universe Origin/Source, also referred to as 宇宙本源, lit. Universe Origin/Source) is the source of all power in the Original Universe[12]. It is incredibly large, to the point that even the Sector Beasts would not be able to devour it in its entirety before the Original Universe could self-destruct to protect itself[13]. If the Origin is damaged, it will take countless Reincarnation Eras for it to recover[13].
The space of the Original Universe Origin is filled with countless spots of light, each filled with strong power[14]. Even the weaker lights were comparable to Universe Masters[5]! Some of the spots represented inherited techniques, like I Am the Universe, but most contained an inexhaustible power of the origin. The light spots could be divided into 100,000 different categories, forming an extremely meticulous universe structure, similar to yet far surpassing Luo Feng's Beginning of the Origin and 100,000 Heavens. When the Original Universe is preparing for its destruction, the Origin absorbs energy from all lifeforms and celestial bodies, accelerating the decline of the universe[5]. After the destruction of the Original Universe, the Origin remains and eventually births the new Original Universe.
As it is the source of all power in the Original Universe, when one breaks through to World Master, they can connect to this source, drawing power to form World Energy[12]. It can even grant techniques, as it does when one reaches the Perfect Life Gene Level in the Original Universe for the first time[15], or as it does for the Ancestral Gods[16]. As a cultivator rises to the peak of Universe Master, the source of their strength is the Original Universe Origin[17]. Whether Divine Power, inherited techniques (including multiple bodies), etc., all of this came from the Origin. This is why even Nine Remoteness Master and Luo Feng's Divine Bodies could only reach 12 light-years in diameter while they were Universe Masters[18].
After a cultivator breaks through to True God they use their Miniature Universe Origin as the source of their power. With the Miniature Universe Origin as the source of their power and their life imprint no longer being tied to the Original Universe Origin, True Gods become enemies to the Original Universe Origin[19] and are heavily restricted, however they are also independent to an extent, able to resist the call of the Dark Universe when surpassing light-speed[20] and able to survive the destruction of the Original Universe[10].
The Original Universe Origin is the greatest power in Universe Ocean, and as such it exerts heavy influence even over the True Gods. It is the Origin that imposes the restrictions on the True Gods in the Original Universe, limiting them to Top-Tier Universe Master Level 6 attacks, punishing them for killing Universe Masters, a Life Gene Level 10,000 times that of a Universe Master, and removing their ability to issue strictly-enforced orders if they fought Universe Masters[19]. Due to sheer power of the Original Universe Origin, it is also able to impose restrictions in Universe Ocean, limiting True Gods to a Life Gene Level 10,000 times that of a Universe Master and removing their ability to issue strictly-enforced orders when fighting Universe Masters[19]. The Original Universe Origin powers the Origin Will of the Original Universe. Without the Origin, the Origin Will is just a weak and fragile mind without any backing[21]. With the assistance of the Supreme Operation Laws, the Origin Will can use the power of the Origin to manipulate Universe Ocean[9].
At the end of the novel, Luo Feng combined his consciousness with the Original Universe Origin and entered it to comprehend the destruction of the Original Universe.
The core of the Original Universe Origin is the Complete Great Dao of the Life Origin. The ability to observe that core is the primary benefit of conquering the Origin Will of the Original Universe[22].
Origin Will of the Original Universe[]
The Origin Will of the Original Universe (原始宇宙本源意志 , lit. Original Universe Origin Will, also referred to as 本源意志, lit. Origin Will, 宇宙本源意志, lit. Universe Origin Will, or 原始宇宙意志, lit. Original Universe Will) is a weak mind, bred and powered by the Original Universe Origin, that governs the Original Universe. At the beginning of the Original Universe, the Origin Will creates the Ancestral God Sect, selecting the Ancestral Gods who will be its representatives[23]. In making them the representatives of the Origin Will, it grants them True God Techniques, the ability to make orders that are strictly enforced, and Top-Tier Universe Master Level 6 power[16]. While the Origin Will cannot act directly, it acts through multiple conduits. It shares information with the Ancestral Gods, allowing the Ancestral God Sect to act as its hands and feet[24]. It also prevents beings from sharing any information regarding surpassing the limit of True God[25]. The Origin Will shows respect to True Gods, granting them the ability to issue orders that are strictly enforced, but it can take that ability away at its discretion (such as when True Gods fight against Universe Masters)[26].
Backed by the power of the Original Universe Origin, the Origin Will could eternally suppress Ancestor Yuan[27], damage Universe Boat[25], and even guide the body of Jin God King to Universe Ocean[28]. Having the power of the entire Original Universe at its disposal, the power that the Origin Will can unleash is beyond most great beings' wildest imagination[25]. In addition to being powered by the Original Universe Origin, the Origin Will is supported by the Supreme Operation Laws, so if a being of the Original Universe attempts to directly harm the Origin Will, the supreme laws interfere, depending on the danger. In the case of Ancestor Yuan, the supreme laws used the Original Universe Origin to suppress him eternally, while in the case of Yuan Ao Master, the supreme laws allowed Black Universe Creator to contribute to killing Yuan Ao without punishing him[19].
Despite being backed by the Original Universe Origin, the Origin Will cannot force True Gods to do anything; only the Supreme Operation Laws can. Knowledgeable True Gods do not truly fear the Origin Will, as they know that as long as they do not break the Supreme Operation Laws, the Origin Will cannot truly harm them[21]. The Origin Will itself also follows the Supreme Operation Laws, preventing it from using the Original Universe Origin to directly attack enemies. Since the Sector Beast King is equal to the Original Universe, the Origin Will could not force Morosa to transcend reincarnation, despite it being at the level of a Void True God.
The Origin Will, with its simple mind, instinctively protects itself and uses others to deal with those who could harm it and those who belong to it. To protect those whose life imprints are tied to the Original Universe, the Origin Will uses the Original Universe Origin to suppress True Gods, who are no longer tied to the Original Universe. Due to the sheer size of the Original Universe and the power of the Original Universe Origin, this suppression is even exerted (at a lower level) in Universe Ocean. To protect itself, it manipulated Universe Ocean to guide the body of Jin God King to give the great beings of Universe Ocean a chance to defeat the Sector Beasts! It truly feared being replaced by another Origin Will, which could happen if the Original Universe was forced to self-destruct[29], and would definitely happen if a great being with sufficient Willpower and ability performed Possession on the Original Universe[9].
There is nowhere in Universe Ocean that is not affected by the Origin Will[25]; even within the World of Jin, Luo Feng remained unable to comprehend the more profound content contained in the Memory Stones in the Duan Dong River Space of Inheritance[30]. The Origin Will also artificially depressed the number of Arcana and inheritances that made it into Universe Ocean, suppressing the strength and opportunities for the great beings within[31]. Fortunately for everyone in Universe Ocean and the Original Universe, it is a simple mind with no desires other than survival, that strictly follows the Supreme Operation Laws. If it was a stronger mind, it was impossible to imagine what it could become.
Controlling the Original Universe[]
The great powers of the Continent of Origin (and their followers) understand that by performing Possession on the Original Universe, they can replace the Origin Will and gain the ability to fully comprehend the mysteries of the Original Universe[9]. This is an opportunity for cultivation given to creatures born in the Original Universe by the Supreme Operation Laws[32]. With the ability to comprehend the mysteries of the Original Universe, it would be easy for them to break through to Primal Chaos Sovereign, and they may even break through to God King!
Understandably, this is a difficult process. If one attempts to do this while their original body is in Universe Ocean, the Supreme Operation Laws will allow the Origin Will to use the power of the Original Universe Origin to eternally suppress them. This not only stops the attempt but dooms the great being to death, as they will be unable to break through to Void True God. If their original body is in the Continent of Origin, it still has strict requirements. Depending on the strength of the Origin Will, one may require Willpower at the Primal Chaos Sovereign level, but if their Willpower is at the God King level, they will definitely succeed.
It is stated by Sitting Mountain Guest that Ancestor Yuan could have succeeded with his Eternal True God-level Willpower and the Virtual Universe[9], which could imply that either the Origin Will increases in strength as the Reincarnation Era passes (so it was weak enough for Yuan to use Possession) or that the abilities and techniques of the great being contribute to their ability to use Possession.
Once one breaks through to God King, while they will have the ability to use Possession on the Original Universe, they are already a God King, so there is no need for them to do so.
