A Starfield (星域, Xīng yù, lit. Star Territory/Field) is a universe unit of measurement, typically comprising 1,000 to 20,000 galaxies. A starfield usually forms a medium-level empire, but there are some exceptions to this rule, such as the Wu Long Starfield, designated for space junk.[1] Generally, 10,000 starfields make up an average Star Sector.[2]
With an average of 10,000 galaxies, a starfield having a diameter of several million light-years was very normal.[3]
